Charles Taze Russell’s Grave Site Pyramid

Charles Taze Russell… He was the founder of the Watchtower Organization, or the Jehovah’s Witnesses as they are more commonly known. If you talk to any Jehovah’s Witness about him, they will freely admit that he started the publications for them, but will deny that he started their religion. They will insist that they have been around since biblical times, though there’s zero evidence of this.

Anyway, when he died on October 31, 1916, he was buried in Rosemont United Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I recently had an opportunity to visit this cemetery to view the enormous pyramid marker at his grave site that was put there by Joseph Rutherford, Russell’s successor as President of the Watchtower Organization.

The pyramid is NOT Russell’s grave or grave stone, though it was put there as a tribute to him. His actual head stone has a photo of him on both sides. I tried to take pictures to give a good perspective of their locations to each other. Here’s the address of the cemetery:

  • United Cemeteries
    226 Cemetery Ln.
    Pittsburgh, PA 15237-2722
    Tel (412) 931-1017

Here’s the video and multiple images. It was raining that day so the writing on the pyramid may be hard to see. Click on the images for the actual high resolution view. Also, try to watch the video in HD if you can.

This video and all images below are free to use and distribute as you see fit.
